The one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. 2Cor.9:6-8 Stewardship is about gratitude – we give our time, talent and money as a way of expressing our thanks for all God has given us. Stewardship reminds us that we are stewards in this life, not owners. Created in God’s image, we are called upon by our very nature and being to give as the great Giver provides abundantly for us. Our service and our formal asking for a financial commitment are both essential to our spiritual growth and our common life. By serving, we discern our gifts and pledge our time to their use in a ministry of service to others. Through our monetary donations, we support the continuation of the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ. Stewardship deepens our faith, moving us from only proclaiming our faith to also living our faith as we bring substance and commitment to what we profess. In turn, the church is enabled to offer excellence in worship, a full complement of activities to nurture the spiritual life and growth of God’s children of all ages, outreach to others, and operation and maintenance of our church facilities. We invite and request your participation in all areas of stewardship as these come to light throughout the year. Please explore our ministries overview for information on the various opportunities to get involved at Transfiguration.
