Coffee Fellowship is in the Parish Hall following both the 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. services. Please join us!

Fr. Bob and Jan will be taking a bicycle trip in France from August 29 through September 8. Rev. Laura Adelia will lead the service on September 3rd. Please welcome her to Transfiguration.

Transfiguration Newsletter end of year edition is available to pick up in the narthex. Thanks again to Joan Crossman and all who contributed articles.

Future plans for Transfiguration: Please set aside Saturday, October 14th and Sunday October 15th as days when we will discuss our plans for the future. More information will be provided as we get closer to the date.

Thanks to everyone who helped with set-up, serving and clean-up for the August 18 Vietnam Memorial Service reception. Your support is greatly appreciated. Jan Saik

Food Bank suggestions for next week: boxed cereals and crackers.

If you know of anyone who is in need of a prayer shawl or quilt please contact Joan Crossman, Linda Jo Johnson, Jan Saik or the office.

United Food Bank, the City of Mesa and Mesa Chamber of Commerce are promoting a One Ton Water Challenge with a goal of collecting 500,000 bottles of water by Sept. 15. A donated pallet of water would contribute approximately 2,000 bottles to the campaign and cost under $150. A list of donation locations is available at An info flyer is in the narthex.

Check out the Walking on Wednesday bulletin board in the Parish Hall. We would love for you to join us by recording and reporting your mileage. We are currently east of Nashville, Tennessee.  Our goal is to log the equivalent mileage to reach Mt. Tabor in Israel. See the website for more information.

Upcoming Events

Monday, August 28 is Project Ministry in the Parish Hall. If you are interested in assisting, please come for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and to work at 7:00 a.m.

Wednesday, August 30 at 9:30 a.m. is Holy Eucharist and at 10:00 is Bible Study. Please join us.

Meetings to resume Saturday September 9 are DOK at 10:00 a.m, Altar Guild at 11:00 a.m. and ECW with a Noon potluck followed by the business meeting.

On Sunday, September 10, we will begin our Adult Education program which starts at 9:15 and concludes before the 10:00 service. Steve Dingle will lead our first four sessions and will discuss similarities and differences in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Please join us at 9:15 each Sunday in the Parish Hall.

Education for our young people will begin at 9:45 a.m., Sunday, September 10. We will again be using Living the Good News curriculum.

Friday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall is the book discussion group. Our September selection is The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
