Our elected delegates to the Diocesan Convention in Tucson in October of 2020 are Heidi Kinney, Ruby Seyffert, Barbara Turner, Bill Robinson and Pam Mack. Also attending will be Fr. Bob Saik, Sr. Warden, Lynn Graft and Jr. Warden, Pat Mack.
The new vestry members elected at the meeting are:
Bob Wilk: After working for 40 years as an upholsterer, my wife and I are now retired and living in San Tan Valley. We have attended the Church of the Transfiguration for the past two and a half years enjoying ourselves making soup in the Lord’s Soup Kitchen every month. We moved here from Pennsylvania where I served on the vestry at St. James Episcopal Church in Mundy and as the assistant treasurer for four years.
Jo Laslo: I have been a member of Transfiguration for the past three years. In those years, I have made many friends and served on many committees. Currently, I am the ECW President. I love this church and being of service. We moved here almost four years ago from California. I was very active in our church there. I served on the Vestry as well as many other ministries. I was an usher for years, Holiday Baskets chairperson for over ten years, and an Altar guild member. I also participated in Alpha and small groups study and served as ECW president. I enjoy being of service. I am more than willing to serve on the Vestry.
Pam Mack : I was born and raised in Southern California. My husband Pat and I moved to Mesa in 1992. I first attended an Episcopal Church in 2010, St. Marks in Mesa. While there I joined the Cursillo Ministry and am still a part of that. I have been a member of Transfiguration since May of 2017. The Episcopal church was what I was looking for all my life. You all are the most loving and kind people I have ever known. I will be honored to serve you as a member of the Vestry here.
Caththerine Schuyler: I was born in NYC .My father was a military man, diplomat and shipping broker. I moved to Arizona in 1984 and currently reside in Mesa. I have experience in government and industry. I also have a long history of volunteer work with police, first responding (includes training the trainers), schools, PTA's, and currently Salt River Wild Horse Management Group as well as this church (mostly with the Chile Farm.) I feel strongly that we are all equal in God’s eyes and that we have a responsibility to help others at all points in our lives.
Karl Shepstead: I was born in Arizona and raised on Long Island. When I left school I went into the Army. I trained to jump out of airplanes. When I came out I got together with Bert, who I had known since we were 11 years old. We were married in 1997 in the little white church. We left N.Y. and went to California for about a year before we came to Arizona. I have been going to this church on and off since my father-in-law died in 1985. Father John did his memorial service.
