Maintaining Community

Governor Ducey issued a Stay at Home Order for the State of Arizona beginning at 5 pm on March 31st. Even as we stay at home and shelter in place we can still maintain the loving community that makes us here at Transfiguration family.

Although we are disappointed that we will not be able to be in the same space, share a hug, and have coffee and fellowship in the Parish Hall during this the most sacred season in the Christian calendar there are many ways we can still be together.

We are lucky to have a strong internet presence. On the last page of this newsletter there are links to our web page, our Facebook page, our YouTube Channel, our Instagram account and our Twitter account. We have also recently added Zoom to our lists of ways to communicate.

Below is a summary of what is available to us. A Sunday Worship Service can be found on our YouTube Channel and on the Worship Menu on our web page. Both Facebook and Twitter allow us to communicate on a timely fashion. To make sure you see our posts you need to “Like” and “Follow”.

We also can communicate through our email list. If you are getting this, you are on our list.

We are very excited about Zoom. We will begin to hold morning prayer, compline, and meetings of our different groups using this platform. You will be emailed an invitation to participate in the meetings. Please join us.

But even with all of these opportunities many of us our disappointed that the excellent Lenten study of The Grace of Les Miserables had to be cancelled. But here too we have an alternative. Lynn Graff, Bobbie Lafford, and Fr Bob have written out discussion notes for the remaining chapters. If you have the book you will find the discussion questions and notes to help guide your reading thought provoking.
