Today at 9:15 a.m. is Adult Formation and will be a discussion about Gods Wisdom found in the book of Proverbs. We will continue this study of Proverbs through September.

Education for our young people is at 9:45 a.m.; Choir Practice is at 11:45 a.m.

Our Harvest Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 27. Much planning has been completed and we need volunteers. Please sign-up on the sheets in the back of the church 

ECW is sponsoring a new ministry called The Lords Soup Kitchen making available delicious homemade soup and bread to persons who are sick or homebound. Those participating in the cooking will meet once a month. Please contact Miriam Waddington, Jo Laslo, Mabel Wilk, Shirley Johnson or the office if you know someone in need of food assistance or to join the group of cooks!

The Chile Farm has been overwhelmingly successful this year. We have 167 4 oz. bags of chile for sale. With success comes opportunities. We need a salesperson to call on businesses and a person to coordinate volunteers. Please contact Bill Robinson or Fr. Bob.

One way to help those impacted by Hurricane Florence is by making a contribution to Episcopal Relief and Development designated to the Hurricane Relief Fund. Forms are available at the back of the church.

Three candidates have been nominated for the next Bishop of Arizona. Work is underway for the fourth quarter Transfiguration Newsletter. Please contact Joan Crossman, Jan Saik for the church office if you have ideas or contribution for articles. Deadline for submissions is September 24.

The office is seeking parishioners who would enjoy writing articles for the church newsletter. Please let us know if you would be interested in this fun ministry! It’s a wonderful way to become better acquainted with our church community

If you know of anyone who is in need of a prayer shawl or quilt, please contact Joan Crossman, Linda Jo Johnson, Jan Saik or the office.

Thanks to all those who have contributed money to send computers to the Club Ninos y Ninas (Boys and Girls Club) in Playas de Rosarito, Mexico. We have received $1,805 towards our goal of $2,700 (15 computers) Please make donations to the church and indicate it is for computers.

In support of Brinton Elementary School, ECW is collecting elastic waist pants and T-shirts sizes 5-12 for boys and girls. Anti-bacterial wipes and Kleenex are also needed.

The Church’s weed wacker has disappeared. If anyone has a weed wacker that the church could borrow, please talk to Fr. Bob or Bill Robinson.

Monday, September 24 is Project Ministry breakfast at 8:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall and work at 8:30 a.m. To work in the farm, come earlier. Garden staff is on hand by 6:30 a.m.

Wednesday, September 26 at 9:30 a.m. is Holy Eucharist; at 10:00 a.m. is Bible Study.

Saturday, October 6 at 3:00 p.m. will be a Celebration of Life Service for Roz Cope followed by a dinner.

Sunday, October 7 will be Blessing of the Animals at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services and again at 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 13 will be a Newcomers Dinner in the Parish Hall. Please see Jan Saik for more information. A sign-up sheet is in the narthex.

Sunday, October 14 we will celebrate Clergy Appreciation Sunday with a potluck following the 10:00 a.m. service.

Sunday, October 21 will be a Healing Service at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services.

Friday and Saturday, November 16 and 17 is the annual Rummage Sale sponsored by ECW. Please hold the dates and save your items. We are now accepting contributions in the Parish Hall.

 

We welcome new families and children at all of our services.

While in church, please be mindful of the sacredness of time and place. Silence any personal communications devices. We hope that you will warmly greet others while respecting those who wish to pray in the church.

We are so thankful for the people who have given additional contributions this summer. Our deficit is only about $5,000 as of the end of August. If you send us money from a financial institution, please make sure that your name is included on the check.

Our walkers logged 1,863 miles in August. This was down from our totals from July but it was hot! We are currently in Cape Town South Africa. It is 5,405 miles to our point of entry in Australia.
